Indiana - Solo Dancing

There have been many odes to dancing in pop music. I’m In The Mood For Dancing by The Nolans, Dancing Queen by Abba, Dancing In The Moonlight by Toploader – all essentials in the tacky wedding DJ’s box of delights. Now we’ll add another;  Solo Dancing by Indiana. However it’s cut from a very different cloth to that of the abovementioned songs, for Solo Dancing comes from the beating heart of darkness. This is not the wrist-slashing-in-despair-emo path of darkness though, but the cathartic black joy that can be derived from the sweet smokey throb of monstrous disco-synths and Indiana’s seductive vocal.

Breaking More Waves has been a long standing supporter of Indiana since 2012 and we’re pleased to see what the record industry would call a bit of traction for her at the moment, with Solo Dancing being featured as the Hottest Record In The World on BBC Radio 1 just a few moments ago, a gig this Thursday at new venue Oslo in Hackney Central, London plus she will be out supporting Bipolar Sunshine in March and April. There's also a forthcoming remix from Joe Goddard of this song.

We look forward to the debut album that should finally arrive in the next six months.
